SOURA FILM FESTIVAL IN BERLIN AND AMSTERDAM

Queer films from South West Asia and North Africa

If you find yourself in Berlin or Amsterdam this week or next week, we highly recommend you visit the 3rd edition of the Soura Film Festival. This queer film festival sheds light on filmmakers and cinematic talents from South West Asia and North Africa (also known as the SWANA region).

Soura shares stories of members of the queer community that challenge heteronormativity and patriarchal environments with their creative vision. The festival opens with ‘The Many Lives of Kojin’, a touching film about a 23-year-old man, who is longing to exist in a society where he is not able to find his place.

The festival is being held from Thursday October 21st till Sunday October 24th in Berlin. The program will include 7 feature films, 30 short films, 2 panel discussions, and an exhibition by Mazen Khaddaj. Check https://sourafilmfest.com for the complete program and tickets.

Soura will also screen a wide selection of films in Amsterdam from Thursday October 28th until Sunday October 31st in Supernova Cinema and Lab111.
